The year is careening towards a finish, so we thought this would be a good time to do a quick retrospective of 2024. For HeroCoders, it was a year of investing in privacy, expanding access to our apps, and growing our team.
Prioritizing Privacy
We’ve put our money where our mouth is when it comes to securing your privacy. Along with the ongoing vigilance we dedicate to our products, this year we took further steps to ensure your privacy is protected:
✅ Achieving SOC2 Compliance
HeroCoders is now SOC2 Type 1 compliant, and we’re not stopping there. Our team is hard at work queuing up our Type 2 audit for early 2025.
🔒 Hiring full-time Privacy Manager
In an environment of ever-evolving threats, as well as ever-evolving regulations, HeroCoders hired a dedicated Privacy Manager to ensure that we’re always on top of what needs to be done to protect you and your data.
🤝 Launching our Trust Center
In order to bring transparency to all the work we’ve done around privacy, we’ve created a Trust Center, where you can view our list of subprocessors, access our penetration tests and review the steps we take to ensure security in our infrastructure and policies.
Checklists for Jira
🆓 Free for Small Teams
We understand that start-up teams have big challenges and small budgets, so we made Checklists for Jira (Pro) free to all teams in the 0-10 user tier.
🌐 Checklists for Jira Enterprise
On the other end of the spectrum, Enterprise organizations have unique needs related to scale, security and compliance. In February, we released a new version of our checklist app – Checklists for Jira (Enterprise) – designed to meet these needs. To make migration easier, you can move your on-prem checklists over to Enterprise using the Jira Cloud Migration Assistant.
Checklists for Jira (Enterprise) is also the replacement for the legacy Checklist for Jira Cloud app originally created by Okapya Software. If you’re still using the legacy app, please note we plan to sunset the app and it will be unsupported after the end of the year. You can find instructions for updating to Enterprise here.
🆕 New Checklist Features
Twenty-twenty-four also saw the delivery of some exciting new features including tab view for multiple checklists, the ability to create item descriptions from the checklist panel, and the expansion of dark theme. For those of you using the Pro or Enterprise versions of the app, you now have more granular control of who can view and/or create Checklist Templates. For a fun overview of how checklists work, see our winning Apptoberfest video.
Clockwork for Jira
🆓 Free for Small Teams
As with checklists, to increase access we made Clockwork for Jira (Pro) free for small teams (0-10 users).
🆕 New Time Tracking Features
Teams using Clockwork for Jira (Pro) got a lot of new features to play with in 2024, including Outlook calendar integration, repeatable worklogs, Holiday calendars per location, advanced issue hierarchy, dashboard gadgets and support for dark theme.
💰 Cost and Rates Tracking
A big new initiative in Clockwork for Jira (Pro) this year was the introduction of cost and rate tracking. We’ll be adding more to this feature in 2025, making Clockwork the all-in-one tool you need for planning, budgeting, billing and monitoring your projects.
Keeping our Customers Happy
Nothing matters more to us than customer satisfaction. We were thrilled that customers at Europe '24 reported Checklists for Jira (Pro) as one of the most useful apps in the Marketplace. Thank you to all of our customers who mentioned us at Team or who left a review. Here are a few of the nice things customers have said about our apps lately:

Great product. Does exactly what we need it to do, and works seamlessly with Jira. Almost seems like its built in which is difficult to do. When we have an issue support responds within minutes which is super helpful.

Does exactly what we need to create task lists for internal teams which serve as an audit trail. Works perfectly with automations and is simple and effective.

We've been using the free version of Checklists for Jira and really liked it. Recently we upgraded to the Pro version and we are loving it even more! Being able to at mention individual tasks is a very neat feature. We've also used Atlassian Automation to automatically add checklists to Jira issues. Works great! We are super happy with this app and it is certainly solving real world business requirements for us. Has especially helped with teams that are migrating from Asana to Jira.

Simple to use with clear documentation for guidance. A responsive support team who are happy to help with any queries or issues you may encounter along the way.

I explored many solutions for tracking my employees' time as well as my own, and this app stood out from the rest. I initially started with the free version, but its usefulness and ease of use quickly convinced me to upgrade to the paid plan. The app continually improves with new features, which I truly appreciate. Most importantly, their customer support is incredibly responsive and reliable, ensuring that any issues are addressed promptly. Highly recommended!

It is very simple but powerful and has an interesting growing plan. Some interesting new features are in the roadmap. Right now we are quite delighted with the functions and possibilities.
Life at HeroCoders
👬 Deepening Our Ties with the Atlassian Community
We spent a lot of time hanging out with fellow users of the Atlassian ecosystem, attending (and sometimes presenting) at Atlassian Community Events in Warsaw, Gdansk, Poznan and Dublin.
HeroCoders also attended Team '24 in Las Vegas and Team 24 Europe in Barcelona.
Attending those events gave us a chance to form new partnerships. We’re happy to be working with you to increase our understanding of customer needs and to be part of the comprehensive solutions your provide your customers.
Along with sales enablement resources, a direct Slack channel to our support team and free internal licenses, members of our Partner Program receive a 20% discount on new sales.
🎓 Growing Our Team and How We Work
HeroCoders is a fully-remote company, but that doesn’t mean we don’t enjoy seeing each other sometimes. This year, in addition to our company retreat in the beautiful, Baltic city of Gdansk. Individual product teams also got together to brainstorm and hack out some new features.
Those teams grew in 2024. We have new hires in Engineering, Product Management and Privacy, and we look forward to continuing to grow our team in 2025.
We also continue to refine how we work. In addition to quarterly hackathons, and 20% time to focus on pet projects – we’ve added a monthly “Learning Day” when team members can work on their own education and professional development.
Sound like a place you’d like to work? We’re hiring.
Thank you to all of our customers, people who have shared reviews, completed surveys, and submitted features requests – you help us make our products better. We wish you a happy holiday season and a safe, healthy and prosperous new year.
